Do I need special equipment?
No. Diego runs in the web browser on your computer, tablet or phone. You can use your receipt printer if you already have one.
Does Diego handle taxes on my sales?
Yes. In the US, Diego calculates sales tax, supports tax-exempt customers with their certificate numbers, and prepares your sales tax report. In the Dominican Republic, it also issues fiscal receipts (NCF).
Does it work with QuickBooks?
Yes. Diego exports your journal entries as a CSV that QuickBooks Online imports, plus an Excel workbook with your chart of accounts, vendors, bills, expenses, sales, P&L, cash flow, sales tax, owner transactions and mileage, with the import order explained. Your bookkeeper reviews and imports instead of typing it all in.
Will it lower my bookkeeping costs?
For most small businesses, yes: the time-consuming part of bookkeeping is entering sales, expenses and bills by hand. Diego records them as they happen and hands your bookkeeper balanced journal entries, so their work shifts from data entry to review.
How secure is my data?
Very secure. Diego stores your information on cloud infrastructure with international security certifications audited by independent third parties: SOC 2 Type II, SOC 3, ISO 27001 (information security), ISO 27701 (privacy) and ISO 9001 (quality), and compliant with regulations such as GDPR, HIPAA and CCPA. On top of that, your connection is encrypted, your information is backed up automatically, passwords and PINs are stored encrypted and locked after repeated attempts, and each business's data is fully separated. And your data is yours: we never sell it or share it with other companies for advertising or commercial purposes.
